Best Humidifier

I have had a sore throat for a while and want to try a humidifier. I want to find the quietest I can and the one that is best for sore throats and stuffy noses. Any suggestions?

the walmart ones did not work well for me. what brand is best? sunbeam and honeywell were not good for me.

have been having trouble with sinus alot since we started using furnice.

What is the best fairly descent priced humidifier to buy at local stores? I have a sunbeam,but its kind of a task to keep clean and working right and what not.

and also..do you have to only use distilled water?

i have a warm mist humidifer in my bedroom and i was wondering if there is a specific spot that is best for it? i currently have it next to the wall opposite my bed but it does not seem to be working for me there (i have night time stuffiness). does these work better if they are closer to your head?

I live in Western NY, hot summers, cold winters. My 2 week old has got a cold and stuffy nose. I am planning on buying a humidifier for her room today, and was wondering which is best for her?? The book, "what to expect the first year" rec. a warm mist, but looking online, there are very few. Which has anyone had experience with, been recommended by their pediatrician, and what one do you guys like?? Thank you

Do you have a humidifier in your home? I have a question for you.
I have one in my toddler’s room and one in my room; do you have to close the door when the humidifier is running at night for best result? Or just leave the door open because it won’t make any difference when it comes for best performance please.

Has anyone added a couple drops of essential oils to their humidifier? Which would be the best for a calming sleep?

My hair is fine, yet dry from winter and indoor heat. I use a humidifier at home and work, and have been using Matrix Biolage hydratherapie shampoo and conditioner and hour long deep conditioning treatments on my hair 3x a week with no luck. In addition to Biolage Ive also tried Redken all soft heavy cream conditioner, both leave my hair still fly-a-way with some breakage on top! Help!

For the first year of Bradley’s life I have used a Vaporizer with Vicks running in his room with the door shut whenever he had cough, stuffy nose, etc. It seemed to work fine. I read in a parenting magazine this weekend that a cool mist humidifier works best in these situations and Bradley has a terrible cough and congested nose so I bought one yesterday and had it running all night in his room. What is the difference? One difference I do notice is the humidifier can run 28 hours on one fill up of water whereas I had to get up in the middle of the night and re-fill the vaporizer. Anyone know the medicinal benefits?

but what is the next best thing to do. Its just that my room is so filled with dry wintry air and my ears keep hurting. I wak up with my ears hurting. I did just get a tonsillectomy last friday so I am trying everything to help me.

1) What is the best way to remove it.
2) Is it harmful to be using it if there is buildup? I don’t clean it every 4 days which is suggested, it’s just to much work. If i have to I will.

I hear cool mist humidifier is best for baby. Is warm ok? Are there any that have both options? Any brands you recommend, or avoid?

It is just around the edges, and yes we I have 2 huge de-humidifiers running down there constantly. I just tried bleach and hot water, but it doesn’t seem to remove it all. Any solutions?

But I don’t know which one is the best, warm or cool? It’s very hot were we live (between 95-100), so I was thinking the cool one. I really want use it at night, that’s when my baby gets more congested.
What do you suggest??? And why?

I get nose bleeds often and have tried many options such as sinus irrigation, humidifiers, Vaseline, saline solution, and some more. I had good luck with Vaseline, but I heard that Vaseline can build in the lungs if used often. It also leaves me feeling stuffy and gross.

Any ideas for a healthy solution that doesn’t feel so sticky?

The warm mist humidifier is actually for my snakes tank, but i was looking at some reviews and it said human humidifiers were the best to use. I need something small, basically what I said above.
